An instalment plan is not automatic
Only your distribution company can confirm whether your account qualifies for an instalment arrangement, what the terms are, and how much must be paid and by when. This website cannot apply for an instalment, approve any plan or confirm what a company's current policy is. Conditions change and vary by DISCO.
How to request an instalment arrangement
Contact your distribution company's subdivision office — the SDO named on your bill is the starting point. Prepare your current bill and account details before you call or visit.
- Explain your financial situation clearly and state the amount you can pay immediately.
- Ask which documents the company needs (some require a written application or income evidence).
- Ask for the revised bill or written confirmation of each amount and deadline if a plan is approved.
- Confirm how subsequent bills will be handled — whether the regular billing continues or is adjusted.
Get the terms in writing
Ask for an official revised bill or formal written confirmation showing each instalment amount, payment deadline and any surcharge or interest that applies. Confirm explicitly what happens to your supply if you miss a scheduled payment. Keep copies of all correspondence and payment receipts until the arrangement is fully settled.
Common questions
Can I pay my electricity bill in instalments in Pakistan?
Some distribution companies offer instalment arrangements for consumers who cannot pay in full, but the terms, eligibility and process vary by DISCO and are subject to periodic policy changes. Contact your distribution company's subdivision office directly to ask about current options. CheckBills.pk cannot apply for or confirm an instalment plan on your behalf.
What happens if I miss an electricity bill payment deadline?
After the due date, the payable amount increases by the late-payment surcharge shown on the bill. If the bill remains unpaid for an extended period, the distribution company may disconnect the supply. Reconnection typically requires paying the outstanding amount plus a reconnection fee. Ask your DISCO about the specific timeline before disconnection occurs in your area.
