Property document is in your name

Step 2 — Submit Online Application

Open the GEPCO portal (use the Apply button above), create an account with your CNIC and mobile number, and fill the new connection form. Specify your load requirement in kW, select single-phase or three-phase, enter the full property address, and upload clear photos or scans of all documents. Review everything carefully before submitting — editing after submission is not possible.

Step 3 — Receive Tracking ID

Within minutes of a successful submission, GEPCO's system will send a unique 11-digit Tracking ID to your registered mobile number. This number is irreplaceable — screenshot it, write it on paper, and keep it in your phone notes. Every future interaction with GEPCO (status checks, Demand Notice printing, receipt uploads, helpline calls) requires this ID.

Step 4 — Technical Survey

GEPCO assigns a field engineer who will call ahead (sometimes) and visit your property to assess the technical requirements for extending the power line. They measure the distance from the nearest existing pole to your meter board, check the local transformer's spare capacity, and determine whether new poles or cables are needed. Make sure the survey area is accessible. This survey is the basis for your Demand Notice amount.

Prepare: Keep an adult at the property. Clear the area near where the meter will go.

Step 5 — Pay the Demand Notice

GEPCO issues a Demand Notice detailing the total connection fees — service line, poles, transformer share, meter security deposit, and registration. Print it using the Print Demand Notice tool on this site, take it to any listed bank, and pay the full amount. On the same day, photograph the bank receipt and upload it via the Upload Demand Notice tool. Uploading the receipt cuts the verification wait from 7 days down to 1–3 days.

Prepare: Do not let the Demand Notice expire — they typically have a 30-day validity.

Step 6 — Meter Installation

Once GEPCO confirms payment, they procure materials (cable, poles, meter) and schedule the installation. A crew will visit your property to run the service line from the nearest pole to your meter board, install the electricity meter, and test the connection. On this day, take note of the meter serial number (printed on the meter body) and the initial reading. This protects you against billing errors in your first few bills.

Required Documents — Full Checklist

These are the five documents you must submit with every GEPCO new connection application. Read each description carefully — the "detail" matters as much as having the document itself.

Property Document Copy

A copy of your ownership documents (registry, sale deed, lease agreement, or allotment letter) that proves your legal right to the premises where the connection is required.

Attested CNIC Copy of Applicant

A clear photocopy of your 13-digit National Identity Card, attested by a gazetted officer or notary public. The attesting officer must sign, stamp, and write 'Attested True Copy' on the copy.

Attested CNIC Copy of Witness

Your application requires a witness whose attested CNIC copy must also be included. The witness can be a neighbour, local resident, or relative who can vouch for your identity and premises.

Neighbour's Electricity Bill Copy

A copy of the latest electricity bill of a neighbouring property helps the electricity company's survey team easily identify the location of your premises on their network maps.

Wiring Contractor's Test Report

A test report issued by a licensed and accredited electrical wiring contractor confirming that the internal wiring of your premises meets WAPDA and Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) safety specifications.

⚠️ Important: If your property ownership documents are in someone else's name (e.g., a parent, a landlord, or a deceased family member), GEPCO requires either a NOC from the actual owner or a copy of the inheritance succession certificate. Don't assume a verbal agreement is sufficient — it's not.
