MEPCO load shedding schedule and outage reporting
MEPCO, Multan Electric Power Company, is the DISCO that bills electricity consumers in Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal and other districts of Punjab. It is a subsidiary of WAPDA, regulated by NEPRA, and its monthly bills are generated through the PITC platform at bill.pitc.com.pk.
How MEPCO schedules load shedding
Load shedding (planned power cuts to balance supply and demand) is published at the feeder level, not the city level. MEPCO groups consumers by feeder loss category: low-loss feeders see minimal outages, high-loss feeders see longer cuts. Your feeder is tied to your meter — ask your sub-division office (SDO) which feeder serves you.
Where to find today's timings
Current timings are published on the official MEPCO website, via SMS alerts for registered consumers, and through the DISCO's Facebook page. During peak summer, NEPRA requires DISCOs to announce any change at least 24 hours in advance. For a fresh bill while the power is out, use our MEPCO bill check from any mobile data connection.
Planned vs unplanned outages
Planned outages appear on the published schedule and have a clear start/end. Unplanned outages (tripped feeder, damaged transformer, weather) do not. Report unplanned outages on 118 or through the MEPCO complaint portal.
Reducing the impact
Solar with battery backup, an inverter-AC, and LED lighting all reduce your exposure to load shedding and cut your bill. See our residential solar guides for sizing, net metering, and payback.
