Pay Your Electricity Bill from Any Pakistani Bank App (HBL, Meezan, UBL, MCB, ABL, BAF)

What it is. Every Pakistani commercial bank's mobile app includes a 'Bill Payments' menu wired into 1Link; add your DISCO as a biller once and future bills appear automatically.

Step by step

  1. Sign in to your bank's mobile app.
  2. Go to 'Bill Payments' → 'Electricity'.
  3. Choose your DISCO (the list is identical across banks because of 1Link).
  4. Enter your 14-digit reference number and confirm the amount shown.
  5. Approve with a biometric/OTP. The bank debits your account and sends an SMS receipt.

Pros and cons

Pros:

  • Zero fee on standard electricity bill payments.
  • Transaction sits in your bank statement, ideal for rental/housing society records.
  • Bill can be saved as a recurring biller for one-tap payment every month.

Cons:

  • Some banks cap payment size or require SMS OTP for first-time billers.
  • Apps occasionally display a stale bill; always confirm the amount before approving.

Frequently asked questions
