Technology differences
Monocrystalline cells usually offer higher efficiency and a uniform black look; polycrystalline cells are often bluish and may have slightly lower efficiency per square metre.
PERC (Passivated Emitter Rear Cell) is a design improvement that can boost efficiency on mono or poly bases. In hot climates, check temperature coefficients and degradation claims.
Choosing for your roof
If roof space is limited, higher-efficiency modules can help. If space is abundant, cost per watt may matter more than peak efficiency.
